Hi everyone, I’m Karthik Rishi, a passionate and disciplined volleyball player who specializes in the libero position. My journey with volleyball began back in 2014, when I was in the 8th standard. From the very first time I stepped onto the court, I knew I had found something special — a sport that truly defined me. I played actively through my school years and proudly represented my school team in various tournaments.
Due to some family responsibilities, I had to pause my volleyball journey during my higher secondary years. However, my love for the game never faded. In 2018, while pursuing my undergraduate degree at St. Hindu College, Nagercoil, I reignited my passion for volleyball. Even though I wasn’t selected for the college team initially, I kept believing in my potential and continued to train.
After finishing my UG degree, I focused on supporting my family and worked from 2022 to 2023. Then, life gave me another chance — my coach, Mr. R. Alson, encouraged me to return to the game. His guidance reignited my competitive spirit, and in May 2024, I began training professionally again while pursuing my postgraduate degree at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Kumaracoil.
That hard work paid off when I represented my university in the All India University Volleyball Tournament and earned the Form-3 certificate — a moment that truly boosted my confidence. Since then, I’ve competed in several league and invitation tournaments, constantly pushing myself to get better.
Today, I proudly represent Abinaya Global Business Hub, a company that recognized my talent and gave me the opportunity to both work and play for their team at national and international levels. For me, volleyball isn’t just a game — it’s a journey of resilience, discipline, and growth. I believe that hard work, consistency, and a never-give-up attitude are what truly define success, both on and off the court.
